ROBERT FITZWILSON Director Robert Fitzwilson has been a member of the board of directors of Atairgin Technologies since its inception. He also is co-founder of Kinetic Attributes, Inc. and Knowledgesmith, Inc. Previously, he founded Sunrise Software where he authored the tax planning software Tax Mini-Miser. In addition, he is founder of the Portola Group, Inc., an investment counseling firm currently managing nearly $1.4 billion for high net worth individuals and families. Fitzwilson earned a B.S. in industrial engineering from Purdue University. He holds an M.B.A. in finance from Stanford University. SUSAN FOLEY Director In addition to her role as director for Atairgin, financial industry veteran Susan Foley is a partner in the investment firm of Harris Bretall Sullivan & Smith Inc. located in San Francisco, where she began her career as a portfolio manager in 1989. stay overnight Tartu Foley is a member of Harris Bretalls strategy committee and serves as an analyst for biotechnology and hardware technology companies. Harris Bretall manages more than $7 billion for its institutional and investor clients. Previously, she managed high net worth individual portfolios, retirement funds and endowments for Salomon Smith Barney, Inc. hoteles en Zurich Foley received her B.A. degree in biological sciences from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She is a chartered financial analyst and chartered investment counselor. Foley is also a member of the National Association of Business Economists and the Security Analysts of San Francisco.

FRENCH Director In addition to his role as director for Atairgin Technologies, Glendon French is director at Santa Clara-based VISX, Incorporated, a manufacturer of laser vision-correction systems. In addition, he is director at Radio Therapeutics Corporation, manufacturer of interventional radiology products for treatment of cancer and depleted vessels. Over the past three years, he has served as a director on several other boards, including Pacific Physician Services, Inc., Webster Laboratories and Independence One Bank of California. Most recently, from 1992 to 1994, French served as chairman and chief executive officer of Imagyn Medical, Inc. Prior to that, he was chairman, chief executive officer and director of Applied Immune Sciences, Inc. From 1982 to 1988, French served as president of the health and education sector of ARA Service, Inc., now ARAMARK. Prior to that, he was president of American Critical Care, formerly a division of the American Hospital Supply Corporation and now known as Dupont Critical Care, for 10 years. He also has held various sales, marketing and general management positions for both American Critical Care and American Hospital Supply divisions. French earned a B.A. in business and an M.B.A. from Dartmouth College.

MILLS, M.D., Ph.D. Co-Founder, Director and Scientific Advisory Board Member Dr. Gordon Mills is chair of the Department of Molecular Oncology, a professor in the Division of Medicine at MD Anderson Cancer Center at the University of Texas and holds the Ransome Horne Jr. Professorship of Cancer Research. Prior to that, Dr. Mills was associate professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Immunology and Clinical Biochemistry at the University of Toronto and served as director of oncology research at the Toronto Hospital. He also was appointed a Medical Research Council of Canada Fellow and a Medical Research Council of Canada Scientist. Dr. Mills' main research interest has been in mechanisms of transmembrane signal transduction in lymphocytes and ovarian cancer cells on which he has published more than 200 papers in Nature, Cell, Nature Genetics, Oncogene, Cancer Research, Clinical Cancer Research, JBC, JI and other journals. Dr. Mills has received continuous funding from peer reviewed grants for studies on ovarian cancer, breast cancer and tumor immunology for over 20 years. He is currently principal investigator on three different NIH/NCI grants. Dr. Mills has lectured extensively on topics such as ovarian cancer, breast cancer, lymphocyte activation and tumor immunology. Dr. Mills earned his B.Med.Sci. and M.D. degrees from the University of Alberta, Canada. He completed his postdoctoral fellowship in obstetrics and gynecology from the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada. Dr. Mills also earned a Ph.D. in biochemistry with Dr. Verner Paetkau from the University of Alberta. He completed his postdoctoral fellowship in immunology with Erwin Gelfand at the Hospital for Sick Children, in Toronto, Canada.

SKINNER, Ph.D. Co-Founder, Chief Scientific Officer, Director and Scientific Advisory Board Member Dr. Michael Skinner is director of the Center for Reproductive Biology at Washington State University and professor in the Department of Genetics and Cell Biology at Washington State University. Prior to that, Dr. Skinner served as associate professor in the Reproductive Endocrinology Center at the University of San Francisco. He has also served as assistant professor in the Pharmacology Department at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Skinner earned a B.A. degree in chemistry at Reed College in Portland, Oregon and a Ph.D. in biochemistry and biophysics from Washington State University. He completed his postdoctoral fellowship at the C.H. Best Institute at the University of Toronto, Canada. Dr. Skinner received the Young Investigator Award from the Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association and Pew Scholars Award in Biomedical Sciences.

Walsh joined Atairgin in August 1998 as chief executive officer to guide the company's commercialization efforts. He also is a member of the board of directors. Most recently, Walsh served as president, chief operating officer and a member of the board of directors of Gensia Sicor Pharmaceuticals. Prior to that, he spent 10 years at Fujisawa Pharmaceutical Company as vice president of sales and marketing. Walsh has participated in the successful launch and commercialization on a global basis of over 80 proprietary, multi-source and drug device product introductions, and is a well-respected leader with a demonstrated achievement record in the healthcare industry. Walsh began his pharmaceutical career at Invenex Laboratories as a medical sales representative. Walsh holds a degree in general studies.

Mr. Winchell is managing director of Fremont Ventures, the growth capital fund of Fremont Group, where he is responsible for identifying investment opportunities in companies with proven management teams in highly scaleable businesses. In addition, Winchell is a member of the board at Bay View Capital Corporation and the Skyline Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Most recently, he served as an investment professional with Generation Ventures and Leucadia National Corporation. Prior to that, he was a manager at Bain and Company. Winchell earned a B.A. from Dartmouth College where he graduated as a Choate Scholar, earned an M.B.A. from Stanford University, and is a certified public accountant and a member of the Young President's Organization.
